Oh, sure, I still get asked that fairly routinely, and in the early days, I think it was just assumed.
Why would it bother me? No big deal at all.
I don’t want to appropriate, even unintentionally, an identity that doesn’t belong to me. There’s enough of that out there already. So I just respond with the truth.
Because I talk about lgbtq stuff a lot, I think a lot of people, including pros, just make assumptions. It’s perfectly understandable. I just tell the truth when asked.
