This is exactly one of the problems that pros face. We might WANT to help, but the truth is, there are serious aspiring writers, and there are daydreamers, and the latter outnumber the former by ten to one at least.
We can’t let daydreamers suck up all the oxygen and help and time, that’s not fair to the serious individuals. So SHOW YOU ARE SERIOUS.
Come to us with a mini-comic or a webcomic or a website, come to us with a portfolio. I have helped LOTS of creators get their first work, some choked entirely, and some are still working today. No one can know til they get there. Talent is NOT ENOUGH.
I know it sounds harsh, but it’s reality.
