Just a few things about Batgirl.
My inbox is flooded with messages, both kind ones and upset ones, and sadly, I am in London on two deadlines and preparing for a convention starting today, and won’t be able to address it all. Also, talking about leaving Batgirl makes me sad because I love the character so much, so for right now, I am just kind of skimming as much as possible.
Just a few things in response.
First, thank you for the kind words, they mean a great deal. I am very proud of the work we did, and very grateful for the enthusiasm and support we have been shown. I can’t really articulate it.
I was not fired, I quit, over creative differences. However, the book has a new editor and he is much more open to creative suggestions and I think the book will benefit HUGELY from his presence.
Also, I don’t know anything about the new book. BUT I saw some pages and I thought they looked great. It looks like a fun, lovely book, and the creative team seems very committed and enthused. I think it’s going to be great and I wish them immense success. I feel like they are a great team for this title.
After the readership, the best thing about the book has been the spectacular art. I can’t say enough about the art teams, especially the current team of Fernando Pasarin, Alex Garner, Jonathan Glapion and Blond. Every page of theirs was a joy for me.
I am happy Barbara is getting a committed editor and a big push to go with the new team. This is all good news for Batgirl.
And finally, I am happy that I get to do some really fun things in my last story.
Thank you for reading!
