SOME INFO ABOUT MYSELFBeing the selected wisdom of a certain writer of adventure picto-books, Gail Simone.
These are a couple of my favorite sites for Cosplay Appreciation Day.
Can’t look at these two sites without being happy. :)
Just like it says, focuses on amazing black cosplayers.
Focusing on women cosplaying comics characters!
CHECK THEM OUT, they will bring joy!
A lot of you might remember, a year ago today, a mini-controversy came up when a prominent professional went on an extended and bizarre rant about fake fangirls and cosplayers and how they are preying on virgin boys or some other such completely goofy nonsense.
It was so goony, I announced that that day was COSPLAY APPRECIATION DAY and hundreds and hundreds of people posted photos of their favorite cosplays all over the internet.
It’s that day again and there are STILL goobers out there insulting cosplayers, misunderstanding them, mistreating them and more. I
I say this. Cosplayers improve every convention and event they appear at. They share their art and wit and humor with us. I know cosplayers who work on their costumes and performances all year long. I have seen cosplayers do volunteer work and visit hospitals to cheer up sick kids.
We should ALL be so ‘fake’ as that, it would be a lot better industry and world.
Today is annual COSPLAY APPRECIATION DAY!
Please spread the word, post your favorite photos, talk about why you love cosplay or cosplayers, and remind people that cosplayers deserve respect and safety.
We got a TREMENDOUS response last year…please post your favorites, and use the tag, and on twitter, the hashtag is #CosplayAppreciationDay
THANK YOU, COSPLAYERS! You make stuff better!
I’m sure many of you read the weird ant-female, anti-cosplay rant this morning.
I say, don’t let these people get you down. Today is COSPLAY APPRECIATION DAY!
All you need to do to show cosplayers your support is post your favorite cosplay posts today, on any social networks, and spread the word about COSPLAY APPRECIATION DAY!
On Twitter, it’s #cosplayAppreciationDay
The point is to show support for all the hard work cosplayers do, but also to celebrate their efforts visibly and loudly. Cosplayers get enough crap…tumblr is the best support they get, let’s just crank up the volume today!
